Meet Cornerstone's Leadership
Leadership
Many people volunteer their time to serve as Elders and Leaders of Cornerstone Christian Church. Cornerstone's Elders attend leadership training before being selected and then continue leadership development during their years of service. Our staff also dedicates time to training and developing volunteers who lead many minstry areas. Serving as Elders for 2008 are:
Terry Emerson
Steve Entrekin
Vernon Greene
Brad Hendrix
Dennis Jones
Charlie Kohler
Mac McDaniel
Mark Thomure
There are also several Ministers who serve at Cornerstone. You may reach any of the Ministers below by calling the church office at 618.239.9710 or by stopping at our offices at 775 North Green Mount Road, Shiloh, Illinois. We welcome your call and visit.
Rick Hodshire
Senior Minister
rickhodshire@cornerstone-ch.org
If you listen to a few of Rick's messages, you'll soon realize that Rick is an avid old movie fan (along with many new movies!). NFL and suspense novels are also on his list of favorites. Invite Rick to dinner, and it better include meat. He'll look at the vegetables and even move them around the plate, but meat and potatoes win his vote! Rick has been serving at Cornerstone since 1993.
Ian Stamps
Senior Associate Minister
There are some local Chinese restaurants that know Ian Stamps on a first name basis. One Chinese restaurant he frequented could even place his order the moment they saw him! Ian is a self proclaimed "nerd" when it comes to reading. He enjoys sitting with a Bible commentary and a good cup of coffee. "Shawshank Redemption", golf, the beach, and reading are also on his list of favorites. Ian and Jodie Stamps have two children, Grace and Nathan, and their third child is expected in the Fall.
Cathy Wright
Worship Minister
cathywright@cornerstone-ch.org
Cathy and her husband Dale enjoy gardening; there's always something blooming in their yard. The Wright family also enjoys animals and you'll quickly meet their new puppy and bunny when you visit. Cathy graduated from Manhattan Christian College and has been serving at Cornerstone since 1977.
Scott Adkins
Executive Pastor
scottadkins@cornerstone-ch.org
Golf, fishing, whatever the sport, count Scott in. He enjoys participating and attending most all sporting events. If it's dining out, Scott prefers a restaurant that serves steak and seafood. Listening to Scott, "y'all" will recognize his unmistakable southern drawl.
Kelley Householder
Operations Minister and Pastoral Care
kelleyhouseholder@cornerstone-ch.org
Kelley came to minister at Cornerstone after retiring from the United States Air Force. Kelley had been a Cornerstone member and elder various times in the past when his Air Force career brought him to the area. Some of his favorites include Max Lucado, Ray Boltz, Casting Crowns, animated movies, Pink Panther, pizza, and ice-cream. Both Kelley and his wife, Cathy, enjoy plants, flowers, birds, and walks in the woods. Kelley says that three books changed his life: "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire", "Experiencing God", and "If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat."
Brandon Braun
Minister of Discipleship
brandonbraun@cornerstone-ch.org
Reading any of Brandon's daily devotions (available in the "messages" section of the website) you'll soon realize that he's a movie and book enthusiast. "Star Wars", "Clue", "Shawshank Redemption" are all on his list of favorite movies. "Jurassic Park", "Flashbang", and "The Life You've Always Wanted" are on his list of favorite books. Brandon and his wife, Beth, have been at Cornerstone since 2007. They enjoy vacationing in Myrtle Beach and Knoxville. Brandon is a Green Bay Packers football fan.
Josh Kinney
Sports Minister
Josh Kinney is originally from Georgia and is still cheering for the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. He enjoys baseball, basketball, and football; loves watching MLB, college football, and college basketball. As far as movies, "The Bourne Trilogy" and "Braveheart" are Josh's favorites. If you ask about his favorite books, he likes "Hosea" and "James" both books of the Bible. Josh graduated from St. Louis Christian College in 2008.
Jeff Chamberlain
Student Minister
jeffchamberlain@cornerstone-ch.org
Jeff and Abbey Chamberlain have two children, Joshua and Gabby. Jeff enjoys a variety of sports including raquetball, basketball, tennis, softball, baseball, and fantasy football. So when it comes to Jeff's favorite movie, "Remember the Titans" rates high. If you invite Jeff out to a restaurant, picking Chinese cuisine will win you points. Jeff graduated from St. Louis Christian College in 2003 and ministered in Missouri and in Arizona before coming to Cornerstone.
Carol Becker
Children's Minister
carolbecker@cornerstone-ch.org
Carol accepted Christ and was baptised by her father when she was just 12 years old. She grew up in a Christian home with two brothers. She enjoys swimming, playing volleyball, listening to Christian music, relaxing in the sun with a great book, and spending time with family and friends. Her two favorite authors are Karen Kingsbury and D. Henderson. Carol and Jeremy Becker live in Belleville.
Jessica Leeper
Associate Children's Minister
jessicaleeper@cornerstone-ch.org
If your children enjoy C.S. Lewis' writings, Jessica will share something in common. Jessica has read all the "Chronicles of Narnia" books and also enjoyed "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. Jessica, her husband, and beautiful daughter moved to Cornerstone from Long Beach, California, where you'll find Jessica's favorite restaurant "Dominicos." The pepperoni on "Dominicos" pizzas are so small that they sprinkle them on the pizza! Jessica says it tastes amazing! As far as vacations, Jessica's favorite place is sitting on the deck of a cruise ship watching the water roll by.
Holly Kinney
Associate Children's Minister
hollykinney@cornerstone-ch.org
Holly visited her favorite vacation spot, Castaway Cay, while on a recent Disney Cruise. She's a fan of "The Old Spaghetti Factory" in downtown St. Louis and enjoyed the movie "27 Dresses." If selecting a favorite sport, Holly would choose volleyball. Holly and Josh are newlyweds and are starting their first ministry together at Cornerstone.
Jama Burch
Communications Director
Visiting with Jama, you'll soon become aware that Jama is a fan of St. Louis artist, Mary Engelbreit. She enjoys reading and vacationing anywhere, especially the beach. While Jama is active in church communication and administration, she also helps with music and worship on Sunday mornings. Jama's two teenage sons and husband are active in Cornerstone's student ministry. Jama began serving at Cornerstone in 2005.
